Hogan has announced some upcoming changes to our participant platform. Please be aware that on September 5th, we will transition the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) and Hogan Development Survey (HDS) from a two-point response format (True/False) to a four-point response format (Strongly Agree/Agree/Disagree/Strongly Disagree). These changes will not only improve the participant experience, but will lead to improvements in both the distribution of scales and their psychometric properties.
We will first introduce these improvements on the core Hogan platform and our standard web-service integrations. Changes to custom platforms and integrations will be implemented in the coming months. We will move the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) to a four-point response format in 2019.
What will the new response format look like?
The new four-point response format will include four possible answer choices: Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Agree,
and Strongly Agree. Participants will be required to respond to each item before auto-advancing to the next item.
The following is a visual of the new response format:
Please note that this update doesn’t include the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) assessment. The MVPI will be moved to a four-point response format in 2019. The HPI and HDS scale improvements will be first introduce on the core Hogan platform and standard web-service integrations. Changes to custom platforms and integrations will be implemented in the coming months.
